Journey to Liberty Island and witness the iconic Statue of Liberty, a beacon of hope and opportunity.
The Statue of Liberty, a magnificent gift from France to the United States, stands proudly on Liberty Island in New York Harbor. Dedicated in 1886, this iconic monument symbolizes freedom, hope, and opportunity for millions. Depicting Libertas, the Roman goddess of liberty, with her torch held high, it offers visitors a profound connection to history and breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline.
What a spectacular place to visit. The museum is amazing one of the best ones that I've been to in a long time. Extremely interactive. The gift shop has a lot of cool things to keep as memorabilia to offer. I really liked the stamps that they have at the side of the gift shop. They're free. They have the date you visited and the Statue of Liberty on the ink. I recommend stamping any bills you have in your wallet and keeping them or giving them away. You can also buy memorabilia from the vendors outside for really good prices. The views of the city are out of this world there's not a bad place to take a picture from. Overall you really feel like you're a part of history when you get on the island. You can see the Statue of Liberty from every place on the island and she is magnificent. I drove there and paid for parking yes it's pricey but it's extremely convenient. I was able to convince my family to go and they absolutely loved it. There's not a bad thing I can say about this experience. I love New York
🗽 Statue of Liberty, New York — The Statue of Liberty is one of the most famous landmarks in New York City, USA. Standing on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, the iconic statue symbolizes freedom, hope, and opportunity. It was a gift from France to the United States and was dedicated in 1886. The statue depicts Libertas, the Roman goddess of liberty, holding a torch high in her right hand and a tablet in her left. Visitors can enjoy beautiful views of New York Harbor and the Manhattan skyline from the island. The Statue of Liberty is a must-visit destination for travelers exploring New York City and remains one of the world's most recognizable symbols of freedom.
The ferry lines to the island and back to Battery Park can be very long. There is almost no shade, so be sure to bring a sun umbrella or a hand fan and plenty of water. I highly recommend the pizza, fish and chips, and lemonade from the food court next to the gift shop—they were all delicious. There are plenty of outdoor tables, and if you prefer to sit inside, there are about five or six tables as well as several standing bar tables where you can enjoy your meal.
➡️ The Statue of Liberty sightseeing cruise was one of the highlights of my visit to New York City and an experience I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the city for the first time. From the moment the boat departed, the journey offered spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline, New York Harbor, and several of the city’s most famous landmarks. One of the most memorable parts of the trip was approaching the Statue of Liberty. Seeing this world-famous monument up close was truly impressive and provided a deeper appreciation for its historical and cultural significance. The views from the boat were exceptional, offering countless opportunities for photography and unforgettable memories. The cruise itself was well-organized, comfortable, and enjoyable. The seating areas allowed passengers to relax and take in the scenery, while the outdoor decks provided unobstructed panoramic views of the harbor. The atmosphere on board was pleasant, and the staff were professional, helpful, and attentive throughout the journey. The ticket price is generally very reasonable for the experience provided, typically ranging between $25 and $35 per person depending on the package, season, and whether additional attractions are included. Considering the views, the quality of the experience, and the opportunity to see one of the world’s most famous landmarks up close, it offers excellent value for money. For visitors looking to avoid large crowds, the best time to take the cruise is usually early in the morning, particularly on weekdays. The first departures of the day tend to be less crowded and provide a more relaxed experience. Avoiding weekends, public holidays, and peak afternoon hours can also make the trip significantly more enjoyable. Another advantage of the cruise is the opportunity to experience New York from a completely different perspective. The combination of the city’s skyline, the open water, and the iconic Statue of Liberty creates a unique and memorable experience that cannot be fully appreciated from land. Overall, the Statue of Liberty cruise is an outstanding experience that combines breathtaking views, historical significance, excellent organization, and great value. It is undoubtedly one of the best attractions in New York City and a must-do activity for anyone looking to create lasting memories while visiting the city. 🗽🚢✨
Visiting the Statue of Liberty felt truly special. Seeing it up close has a completely different impact than pictures. The ferry ride and skyline views made the experience even more memorable. The museum was also a highlight, especially seeing the original torch up close. There is a casual café on the island if you need a quick bite, but it is more about convenience than the food itself. It is one of those places you should not rush. Just take it in and enjoy the moment.
• A timeless symbol of freedom and hope. • Seeing the Statue of Liberty was truly surreal; even more majestic in person. It was prettier surrounded by the winter snow too! • Definitely a must-visit when in New York! 🇺🇸✨
It was raining and leaking inside the museum so I assume work is to be done soon. I got stuck inside waiting out the rain. Despite the weather, I LOVED the Statue of Liberty. She's so much larger than others have dismissed her to me. A must see.
Magical experience! The ferry ride to the statute was amazing. The Statute and historical venue is amazing and I definitely recommend it to any and everyone! Even those of us from New York. đź—˝
Highly recommended. Been here twice and b8th times I've learned something new. We paid a little more to go up the pedestal, but thr space was really reduced up there. Nice views and that's it. The museum in the back is worth it... plus all the pictures with lady liberty are great!
For the Crown Tour: tickets can be purchased months in advance online and include access to the pedestal & a small museum at that level. There is an elevator that can take you to the top of the pedestal - if you opt for the stairs, as we did, be prepared for quite a few flights (I want to say eight) before you even get to the base of the statue. There are plenty of places to stop & rest if needed. Once you ascend to the top of the platform, crown access begins for those with tickets, but you can see quite a lot of the structure from the platform too via a glass panel. The crown ascent is an extremely narrow, steep staircase - but there are guardrails on both sides and the line moves very slowly, as it’s a one-way loop through the top of the crown and back down again, so be prepared for stop-and-go the whole time, as each person has to stop at the top for pictures etc before continuing back down the loop. My 6’2” husband had to be strategic but never actually hit his head; I, at 5’4”, found the staircase perfectly comfortable. It would be very difficult for someone holding a child or for anyone who is claustrophobic. However the views inside are fascinating! And the crown, at the top, is well worth the hike. There’s a thermometer posted at the top of the crown that showed temperatures 30* higher than outside - I can only imagine how hot it gets in August, inside a metal pillar full of bodies. Just something to keep in mind as you plan your trip. Bottom line: excellent cost to value for two adults, but I would only bring my young children under certain temperatures and I’d come armed with snacks and lots of positive reinforcement.
Secure your tickets well in advance, especially if you plan to visit the pedestal or crown, as these often sell out quickly.
Prepare for airport-style security checks and potential ferry line waits; arrive early, especially on weekdays, to avoid peak crowds.
Bring plenty of water, a sun umbrella, or a hand fan, as shade is limited on Liberty Island, particularly during warmer months.
Purchase tickets only from official vendors like Statue City Cruises or the Clinton Castle in Battery Park to avoid unofficial sellers.
Take your time to explore the interactive museum on Liberty Island, which offers a deep dive into the statue's history and significance.
Don't miss the opportunity to take a ferry cruise for stunning panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline and New York Harbor.
